          About Us
          The Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement are a community founded in the United States. The Sisters have been serving and ministering in Alberta since 1926.

          The Sister's first mission  was in Smoky Lake, Alberta. The Sisters left Graymoor on October 5th to make the first Canadian foundation.

          The Sisters came to Edmonton, Alberta in 1927. Our co-founders (Mother Lurana White and Father Paul Wattson) visited Edmonton, Alberta in 1927.

          The ministries have been diverse since 1926. Catechetical, Social Service Work. 2018 the Sister's administrate the Franciscan Sisters Benevolent Society and Lurana Shelter Society.
